A Scientist from the UK observed 5 possible unusual but mils symptoms of Omicron and alerted officials.
A study conducted by a scientist Prof. Tim Spector from King’s College London says, by Christmas, the omicron variant is expected to be the dominant variant. This study is based on the symptoms of the cases reported between October 3 to October 10 while the delta variant was most dominant and now between December 3 to December 10 while Omicron is the most concerned variant. The top 5 symptoms appeared in the Omicron variant are:
The researchers found that three days after the positive test the cold-like symptoms observed were not much different from the Delta variant. According to recent data, Omicron comes with more flu-like initial symptoms whereas the symptoms of the earlier variant were different such as cold, fever, sore throat, etc. Scientists alerted that it's too early to assume that this variant will end up being a mild variant as it is heavily mutated and highly contagious. “We are also seeing two to three times as many mild infections in people with boosters in omicron areas as we do in delta variant areas, but they are still very protective and a vital weapon”, Prof. Spector said.
U.S. actions against Omicron
President Joe Biden's administration has opposed screwing up any restrictions but has also outlined the dire situation for non-vaccinated Americans in which hesitant Americans should get a vaccine shot. In New York City the Omicron is already in "full force", with more than 8,300 new cases reaching a single-day record on December 16th. But new hospitalizations and deaths are far below their 2020 spring peak, and city data shows where they were in 2019 springs., Mayor Bill de Blasio said.
Jeff Zients (White House coronavirus response coordinator) said, “For the unvaccinated, you’re looking at a winter of severe illness and death, for yourselves, your families, and the hospitals you may soon overwhelm”.
