To replace the Snapdragon 778G plus Qualcomm has announced its latest system on a chip (SoC) as the Snapdragon 782G Mobile Platform.
Qualcomm, with its latest chipset, is one of the leading players in the market. The latest chip introduced by Qualcomm is called as the Snapdragon 782G Mobile Platform. The chipset brings performance improvements to 2.7GHz from 2.5GHz in CPU. As compared to Snapdragon 778G plus its GPU is 10% faster to its predecessor.
The 782G is a 6nm chip. It contains a Kryo 670 processor and an Adreno 642L. The CPU have similar core setup but runs for about 200MHz at 2.7GHz. Improved AI, has capability to captures three cameras with processing up to 2 gigapixels per second, and easy connectivity support for mmWave and Sub-6 GHz frequencies are key features.
To capture HDR10+ videos in over 1 billion shades of colour, Bluetooth 5.2 audio, and 120 FPS capture. The modem is Snapdragon X53 similar to previous chipset. The 782G brings Quick Charge 4+. Changes in clock speed, the CPU is about 5% faster. Fast Connect 6700 offers Wi-Fi 6 up to 2.9 Gbps. The Snapdragon 782G will be present in some upcoming devices.
It is not yet known which devices will use the snapdragon 782G mobile platform chipset. With some reports indicating an Honor 80 smartphone. The 782G chipset is expected to be used in midrange devices. Snapdragon 782G comes with fast charge 4 plus. With these technology, the batteries could be charged from 0 to 50 percent in just 15 minutes. Information about wireless charging is not yet available.
The AI engine in the Snapdragon 782G uses a combined AI accelerator design. Further, it includes a 14-bit triple Qualcomm Spectra ISP (Image Signal Processor). The mid-range phones will be able to handle LPDDR5 RAM and USB 3.1 for data transport thanks to the 782G chipset.
