The bugs that occurred on Teams that made a failed emergency call on the Android device have been fixed by Microsoft.
Microsoft's video conference platform recently had a bug that prevented the user from making some emergency calls. This bug has occurred on several Android devices, meaning users cannot make an emergency call to 911. The Microsoft research team did consult with the developing team of Google on this problem. After some research, the Google team declared that they required time to fix the bug until January 4th. Since this bug has caused trouble in emergency services, the developing team from Microsoft has developed a solution that can prevent this bug from causing chaos in the event of an emergency.
An Android user discovered the first instance of this bug. This issue has been published on the user’s Reddit account. The post stated that the user had some difficulty connecting emergency calls to 911 in an emergency. The user has been using its Pixel 3 phone to make calls but has had some difficulties connecting calls. Since the user was using a Google Android device, Microsoft suggested that the bug be fixed in collaboration with Google.
A similar issue is also occurring on devices running Android 10 and 11. The Teams app has caused the same issue with all versions of Android versions above 10. The Google team has advised users who only installed the app but never signed in, to uninstall the app from their phone. The bug in the Teams app may become a security threat on a catastrophic level. Since the organization does not want to spoil its name and reputation in the market, they are giving their best to resolve the issue.
As a temporary fix for the problem, Microsoft has been advising users to install a third-party app to minimize the security risk. Furthermore, for a permanent solution to this bug, the developing team of Teams has been creating a new version of the application from the basic code structure. After developing and testing the app, the company will release the new and safer version of the Teams application for Android devices.
