A Japanese company ICOMA plans to start production of its new fully functioning prototype of a foldable electric motorbike, Tatamel.
A Japanese startup company, ICOMA revealed its electric motorbike that can be folded for easy storage and fit under a desk. Called as Tatamel bike, is an ideal electric motorcycle for commuting to work or riding around the city without having to worry about finding a parking spot, as the bike can be folded down to a very size enough to fit it under a standard office table. The electric motorbike, Tatatmel is currently a fully functioning prototype. However, the company plans to start its production very soon.
The e-bike has length of 1,230 mm and height of 1,000 mm and width of 650 mm (48.4x39.3x25.6 in.), when it’s unfolded. It comes with 600 watt motor powered by 12-Ah lithium-ion-phosphate battery that delivers a top speed of 25mph (40 km/h) and maximum range of around 31 miles (50 km). The motorcycle also comes with a portable power supply making it also a power source. When the Tatamel is folded for storage, it measures 700 by 680 by 260 mm (27.6x26.8x10.2 in.) in length, height, and width respectively. A handle hinged to the bike can be used to pull it with the front and rear wheels to move it to a desired place.
According to ICOMA, the side panels are replaceable with desired materials and colors as well as a desired artwork of illustrations can also be added to the panels through which a user can express their personality. Other features of the bikes includes suspensions in front and rear, and an LED lighting system. The vehicle is legally classified as a moped in Japan, so a driver’s license will be essential to riders to drive the bike. It is still uncertain when the new electric Tatamel Bike will be commercially available.
