The management of smart home appliances appears to be a problem for Google Assistant in the United States and other nations.
Users may have run across an odd behavior if they tried to use Google Assistant one of those mornings to turn on a TV or turn on their lights. Google Assistant appears to have forgotten how to use smart home devices.
There are technical issues with the virtual assistant that allows users to use their voice to manage anything from appliances to a robot vacuum. Users seem to be having trouble right now getting Google Assistant to "understand" commands for activating or deactivating devices, in particular.
The software typically reacts and complies with the command given when given a prompt, such as saying "Hello Google, turn on the lights." One will receive a response from the software saying "Sorry, I didn't comprehend" or "Sorry, I don't understand" if user give it an order straight away.
After having to use Google Assistant individually with their own smart home products, users have confirmed that this is currently a problem. However, it appears that the issue is not limited to Americans, as several of its writers who are stationed outside the US are also having trouble.
However, the issue appears to be restricted to operating smart home appliances because Google Assistant may still be able to do other functions, including providing answers to queries and engaging in two-way discussions. However, given that Google Home is currently functioning as it should, it appears that the problem only affects Google Assistant.
This is the kind of issue that usually gets resolved right away. Hence, if users having this problem, it really is probably safe to anticipate that things will be back to normal for the app soon.
